Fresh Fruit Bowl (Print Layout)

A refreshing mix of seasonal fruits with a bright citrus honey dressing, ready in just 15 minutes.

# What You Need:

→ Fresh Fruits

01 - 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
02 - 1 cup seedless grapes, halved
03 - 1 cup pineapple, peeled and diced
04 - 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced
05 - 1 orange, peeled and segmented
06 - 1 apple, cored and diced

→ Citrus Dressing

07 - 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
08 - 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
09 - 1 tsp finely grated lime zest

→ Optional Garnishes

10 - 2 tbsp fresh mint leaves, finely chopped

# Directions:

01 - Wash, peel, and cut all fruits as specified. Transfer the prepared strawberries, grapes, pineapple, kiwis, orange segments, and apple into a large mixing bowl.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together the fresh lime juice, honey or maple syrup, and lime zest until well blended.
03 - Drizzle the citrus dressing over the assembled fruits. Gently toss everything together, taking care not to crush or bruise the fruit pieces.
04 - Sprinkle the chopped fresh mint leaves over the top just before serving.
05 - Serve immediately at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours for a more refreshing chill.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • It takes fifteen minutes from cutting board to table and looks like something from a magazine spread.
  • The citrus dressing elevates ordinary fruit into something that tastes surprisingly complex and restaurant worthy.
  • It adapts to literally whatever fruit you have on hand, making it impossible to get wrong.
02 -
  • Cut the apples last and toss them with a tiny splash of lime juice right away to prevent browning before the dressing goes on.
  • Do not assemble more than two hours ahead or the softer fruits will weep and turn the bottom of the bowl into a soupy mess.
  • Maple syrup instead of honey keeps this fully vegan without changing the flavor in any way that matters.
03 -
  • Chill your serving bowl in the freezer for ten minutes before assembling to keep everything crisp and cold on the table for longer.
  • The zest is where most of the lime flavor lives, so never skip it and always zest before you juice.
